In over 31 years of practice Padhraic Harris & Co. have provided traineeships to many aspiring solicitors. Some trainees have gone on to establish their own firms or become partners at highly respected firms. Others have practiced both in private practice and for public bodies. Now, we are happy to welcome our new trainee solicitor – Ronan Harris.
Ronan was born and bred in Galway City. He graduated with a Bachelor of Corporate Law (Hons) from NUIG in 2018. After this, Ronan relocated to Letterkenny, County Donegal where he studied for his FE-1 exams. He completed these exams in March 2020 – just narrowly escaping the Covid-19 related cancellation of exams that would follow.
Away from the office Ronan’s interests include art (oil portraiture in particular), 60s rock/pop music (the Beatles), classic TV shows (Murder, She Wrote) and electric cars (dream car is Tesla Model 3). Ronan spends his weekends in Carrick-on-Shannon where he lives part-time with his partner who is a trainee solicitor in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon.
This year Ronan will commence the Professional Practice Course Hybrid (PPC Hybrid). He will be part of only the second ever intake for the Hybrid Course. This course will consist mainly of online lectures combined with regular onsite weekends at Blackhall Place. This new structure allows trainees from all over the Country to avoid the high costs associated with living in the Capital. Furthermore it allows trainees to work during their PPC Course.
Upon completion of of the courses and in office training, Ronan will then be eligible to receive his practicing certificate and become a fully qualified solicitor.
Ronan is excited to become a trainee solicitor in this office and looks forward to learning from the knowledgeable solicitors at Padhraic Harris & Co. Ronan will be gaining experience across the many areas the firm practices including medical negligence, personal injuries, family law and conveyancing.
